Independence Party Nominates Dean Barkley

Dean Barkley won 59% of the vote in the primary of the Minnesota Independence Party, and is now the nominee for U.S. Senate. Barkley was the founder of the Minnesota Independence Party, and has run several times for Congress or Senate.

In 2002, Gov. Jesse Ventura named Dean Barkley to fill the unexpired term of Senator Paul Wellstone.

Sen. Barkley is challenging incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman, who has long supported President Bush and his war policy. The Democrats nominated comedian Al Franken, who has never sought public office before.

This could be one of the most important alternative party campaigns in the United States. For more information or to contribute go to http://www.barkleyforsenate.org/home.html

When he was asked how long we should be in Iraq, Barkley’s answer was “how fast do Hum Vee’s go and how far is it to the border?”

Coleman’s support is soft with the Republicans because he votes for every spending bill that comes up and Franken in spite of spending $15 million only received 65% of the primary vote to a candidate who spent about $100,000 and campaigned for about a month.

Franken is a carpet bagger as he just moved here a couple of years ago to run after being gone for over 40 years.
This is the most winnable Independent candidate in the country running for a U.S. Senate race if he can raise about $500,000 (a bargain).

    Send him money.
